Career Caffeine 7: Don’t ask for a job
Just after my engineering, I used to ask silly questions to recruiters and HR managers.
The first thing I would ask them was –
“Do you have a job opening?”
If they said a “No” I would simply move on. Honestly, this wasn’t the best strategy.
Now I realise that it’s important to ask smart questions. Sometimes, it’s important to ask for guidance instead of a job.
So I asked them, “Would you guide me through the recruitment process!”
And many recruiters helped me through the process.
Ask for guidance, not a job.
